Montevideo, Nov 7 (EFE) .- Uruguayan Foreign Minister Rodolfo Nin Novoa today urged his Venezuelan counterpart, Jorge Arreaza, to seek a way for his government to pay its debt to companies Uruguayan for the purchase of products. p>
Through a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay reported that both foreign ministers met today in Montevideo, instance in Nin Novoa made that request to Arreaza. p>
In July 2015 the president of Uruguay, Tabaré Vázquez, and his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, signed an agreement for the exchange of 235,000 tons of food in exchange for 300 million dollars. p>
In addition, under this agreement another one was included for the payment in advance with a partial withdrawal of a debt that the Uruguayan state oil company Ancap had for the purchase of crude oil with Venezuelan public oil company PDVSA. p>
However, the Caribbean country incurred delays and still remains pay part of their debt for that transaction. p>
On the other hand, at the meeting, the foreign ministers also talked about the internal political situation in Venezuela and what it implies in the different regional forums.
