The executive president of Avianca, Hernán Rincón, was appointed as the new president of the Executive Committee of the Latin American Air Transport Association (ALTA), reported today the airline.

Bogotá, Nov 22 (EFE) .- The executive president of Avianca, Hernán Rincón, was appointed as the new president of the Executive Committee of the Latin American Air Transport Association (ALTA), informed the airline today.

The appointment of Rincon took place in the Forum "Leaders of the Air Industry", advanced by ALTA from November 19 to 21 in Buenos Aires, where more than 500 representatives of the international airline industry analyzed the challenges of the sector.

In this way, the new president of the entity assumes the leadership of the organization that today it brings together more than 30 airlines operating in Latin America and representing around 90% of the air passenger traffic in the region.

Rincon has proposed "boosting initiatives aimed at strengthening the development of the Latin American aviation industry and facing the challenges that the sector currently faces in terms of security, infrastructure, innovation and sustainability, "Avianca said in a statement.
