The Egyptian president approves the customs cooperation agreement with Uruguay

The Egyptian president, Abdelfatah al Sisi, today issued a decree approving the cooperation agreement between Egypt and Uruguay in the framework of customs issues, signed last 28 November 2016, according to the presidential bulletin.

Cairo, Nov 23 (EFE). - The Egyptian president, Abdelfatah al Sisi, today issued a decree approving the cooperation agreement between Egypt and Uruguay within the framework of the issues Customs, signed on November 28, 2016, as reported by the presidential bulletin today.

The decree, approved by the Egyptian Parliament on July 5, includes cooperation and aid between both countries and the exchange of information in order to guarantee the correct application of the customs legislation and to avoid infringements.

Uruguay exported to Egypt in 2016, livestock heads worth $ 6,723,534, representing 58% of all exports to the Arab country, including wool, dairy products and wood pulp.

On September 1, Mercosur informed that the free trade agreement that the bloc, also made up of Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, entered into force, signed with Egypt in 2010.

On May 31, Al Sisi invited Uruguayan businessmen to invest in Egypt, after meeting in Cairo with the president of Uruguay, Tabaré Vázquez.
