Producers from Nicaragua sign an agreement to boost their access to the French market

The Association of Producers and Exporters of Nicaragua and the Franco-Nicaraguan Chamber of Commerce signed a collaboration agreement today to promote the economic development of the companies of the Central American country, reported government media.

Managua, Nov 7 (EFE) .- The Association of Producers and Exporters of Nicaragua and the Franco-Nicaraguan Chamber of Commerce signed a collaboration agreement today to promote economic development of companies in the Central American country, reported government media.

The president of the Nicaraguan producers association, Guillermo Jacoby, highlighted the importance of this agreement to access both the French and European markets.

"It is a gateway to the European market, according to Nicaragua's export statistics. Nicaragua exported more than 34 million dollars to France and in the last months of this year more than 21 million dollars have been registered, "he said.

According to the leader, the Nicaragua's exports to the European Union amounted to more than 300 million dollars.

"We have an association agreement between Central America and the European Union and it is important find new commercial opportunities to contribute to this market of more than 500 million inhabitants, "he added.

Nicaragua exports to France various products such as lobsters, shrimp, honey, coffee, rum and oils.
