Lima, Nov 21 (EFE) .- The Chilean airline Latam announced today that it will operate a direct flight between the Peruvian cities of Cuzco, the gateway to Machu Picchu, with Iquitos, the most Large of the Peruvian Amazon, located near the beginning of the Amazon River.
The manager of Corporate Affairs of Latam Airlines Peru, Antonio Olórtegui, explained in statements published by the official agency Andina that the route will work stationary, from July to November.
It will be the second route of Latam in Peru without having Lima as its origin or destination, having started direct flights this year between the northern city of Trujillo and Cuzco, also in operation from July to November.
"We will continue to improve the national and international air connections of Peru, because we want passengers to reach more destinations, "said Olórtegui.
Until now, to travel between cities Cuzco and Iquitos you have to take two flights and make a stop at the Jorge Chávez airport in Lima.
