The income received by Brazil from external sales of coffee also fell in the first ten months of this year by 1.2% and up to 4,215.6 million dollars, according to data released today by the Council of Coffee Exporters (Cecafe) of Brazil.

Although it significantly reduced its shipments, Brazil practically kept its income from coffee sales stable thanks to the fact that the price of grain jumped 10.7% in last year, up to 170.33 dollars per bag on average in the first ten months of this year.

Exports accumulated until October 2017 are the lowest for the period, both in volume as in value, in the last five years, since Cecafe began to collect the statistics.

According to the entity, the monthly shipments were reduced by 18.3% in the last year, from 3.36 million bags in October 2016 to 2.75 million bags in October of this year; dollars in the same period.
