This is the book "Those who Wait: Chronicles of refugees and migrants in a world of wars and exclusion ", that its author will launch within the framework of the International Book Fair of Santiago (Filsa).

The text, from the October publishing house, includes a series of writings" with Latin American voice "from seven regions in conflict, accompanied by illustrations by the well-known graphic artist Alina Najlis.

The author, who was also finalist of the Gabriel Prize García Márquez 2016 and co-author of the book "Two faces of Korea itself", based his work on a journey in which he toured refugee camps, cities and borders of many countries such as Syria, Turkey, Kenya, Myanmar, Cuba, Mexico and the United States, among others.

On this journey, he encountered real stories of refugees, accustomed to leading a "normal" life in circumstances of conflict, violence and vulnerability, whom he calls "those who wait", according to his writings.

In its pages, Wizenberg tried to capture "the most human side of the crisis of forced displacement", with the purpose of giving voice to the more than 65.6 million people from all over the world. world that have had to flee their homes because of war, violence, crisis and persecution.

This reality, as related, particularly affects those under 18, who they represent 51% of the total refugee population globally.

The launch will also include the participation of international journalist based in Chile Carlos Zárate and the national head of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Delfina Lawson.
