Buenos Aires, Nov 21 (EFE) .- Representatives of some forty multinational companies that manufacture parts and pieces for automobiles participated today in Buenos Aires in a forum organized by the Argentine Government, which seeks to attract investments in this sector.

"I hope you are new protagonists of this Argentina, which, without a doubt, is the country that will have the best development. in the next 20 years, "said Argentine President Mauricio Macri at the opening of the forum, organized by the Ministry of Production, through the Investment and Trade Agency International.

Macri said that "with fewer obstacles and better rules" the automotive industry will produce "more and better" each time.

The president said that Argentina is heading towards goal of one million vehicles produced annually for 2023, but said that in order to "prop up" this process, it is necessary to "develop more an industry that supplies parts and pieces" to achieve "greater sustainability of the entire industry".

"I hope that this meeting will bring proposals, initiatives and challenges, we are here to continue reducing obstacles and our main task is to help them so that you can produce more and better, "he said.

Before businessmen from Japan, Korea, China, India, the United States, Mexico, Germany, Spain, France and Brazil, also spoke the production ministers, Francisco Cabrera, and Finance, Nicholas Dujovne.

He also took the floor the owner of the Association of Automotive Factories of Argentina and President of Renault Argentina, Luis Fernando Peláez Gamboa, who stressed that the terminals located in the country have investment plans in development, equipment and provider training for about 1,000 million dollars for the next three years.

"In addition to enhancing this natural process, given the progress of new mobility technologies and technological progress is of our interest to work together with the public and private sector in the creation of a technological development center that allows us to be inserted in the demands of the new global map, "Peláez Gamboa said.

This Wednesday, on its second day, the representatives of the visiting companies will travel terminals in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Santa Fe.

Currently in Argentina eleven automotive terminals work and there are some 500 local auto parts companies, a sector that employs about 70,000 people directly.
